Crimea and southern regions of Russia will be strengthened by minelayers “Agriculture”

Troops stationed in the Crimea and other regions of southern Russia will be reinforced with rocket-propelled minelayers. All engineering units of the Southern Military District (SMD) will soon be equipped with “Agriculture” remote mining systems. This decision was made in the Ministry of Defense, sources in the military department told Izvestia.

New installations were the first to receive the division of the 11th engineering brigade of the Southern Military District. The personnel accepted the ISDM at the end of last year, completed combat coordination and have now begun to work out combat missions. In particular, soldiers and officers are working out new ways to use remote mining systems as part of mobile barrier detachments.

The interlocutors of Izvestia reported that in the future, “Agriculture” should receive the engineering regiments of the 8th, 49th and 58th combined arms armies, which are part of the Southern Military District. Separate batteries equipped with these systems will be formed in them.

These systems are capable of creating impenetrable minefields of any configuration and complexity in a matter of minutes.

“Agriculture” was adopted by the Russian army quite recently. Tests of this engineering system were successfully completed as part of the Kavkaz-2020 exercises.

At the Zapad-2021 exercises, the combined use of Agriculture and mobile groups of heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1A Solntsepek was tested.

In 2022, the “Agriculture” systems will also receive the troops of the Central Military District. The head of the engineering troops of the Central Military District, Colonel Andrey Gandzyuk, said in January of this year that the ISDM would be received by a separate engineering brigade stationed in Bashkiria by the end of this year.
