On February 15, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Economics of the Peoples’ Friendship Friendship University Andrey Girinsky named a way to increase the pension for working pensioners.
He explained that the size of pensions and indexation strongly depend on the region, length of service and accumulated pension points. Not the entire payment is indexed, but part of it, and only for those who are not working.
“If a pensioner works, then the pension is not indexed, but upon retirement, the pensioner receives indexation. Of course, there is a (theoretically) way to get indexed as you go. To do this, you can quit and, having received an indexation, go back to work, ”Prime quoted him as saying.
Girinsky believes that this method is quite difficult to use, since it is not so easy for a pensioner to get an official job with a large white salary.
As the economist said, the fixed part of the pension has not been indexed since 2016 and amounts to 6044 rubles 48 kopecks. Since 2016, the indexation of the Individual Pension Coefficient (IPC) has also been discontinued. However, the cost of one IPC point is about 100 rubles, for one year of work experience you can get no more than three points, so the variable part of the pension becomes essential with a very long official work experience.
Earlier, on February 12, Girinsky told pensioners about the exemption from paying part of the duties and fees. This applies, for example, to land tax or property tax.
In addition, it will be free for pensioners to issue a certificate of inheritance at home. As the economist points out, there is also a benefit for gasification of a land plot to its borders.
Since February 1, a law on the indexation of pensions by 8.6% came into force in Russia. The surcharge will come automatically along with the February payment. Non-working pensioners in Moscow and the Moscow region began to receive indexed pensions from February 3. The average insurance pension increased by about 1.5 thousand rubles compared to the previous year and amounted to 18,984 rubles. The Pension Fund of Russia indicated that all payments will be made automatically.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on the indexation of insurance pensions by 8.6% on January 28. Arguing for the need to index pensions above the level of inflation, the head of state pointed out that the decisions taken earlier would not be able to cover the expenses of pensioners due to rising prices.
