A resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region, who stabbed a friend because he forgot to congratulate his wife on International Women’s Day, received three years and nine months in a special regime colony. This was reported on February 16 in the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.
“Collected the evidence was deemed sufficient by the court to convict the 29-year-old man. He was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30 h. 1 tbsp. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Attempted Murder”),” the report says.
It was established that on March 9, 2021, in an apartment on Sovetskaya Street in the city of Pavlovo, a man stabbed his friend during a quarrel. Medics saved the life of the wounded.
“The defendant pleaded guilty, citing an insult to the victim who did not congratulate his wife on March 8 as the motive for the crime,” the department added.
Earlier on February 16, it became known that during the arrest of a criminal on Medynskaya Street in Moscow, two policemen were stabbed.
According to Izvestia, a fight broke out in one of the residential buildings involving three men, one of whom was armed with a knife. During the arrest, he cut the hands of two policemen. The injured were taken to the hospital.
The attacker was identified. It turned out to be a 23-year-old native of Tajikistan who does not have a permanent place of residence in Moscow.
