Finance Minister Klingbeil can hardly rely on the votes of the opposition in his household. Greens, BSW and the left have very different reasons for their rejection.
Greens and BSW in the Bundestag seriously criticize the budget of Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil. “The coalition distributes expensive electoral gifts to individual groups, stuffs household holes that she creates itself and cemented the status quo,” said Green Housekeeper Sebastian Schäfer from the German Press Agency.
The Greens had approved a change in the Basic Law as the basis for the future investment of the future – but Klingbeil and Chancellor Friedrich Merz did not use this for progress, climate protection, social justice and modernization. “The coalition is far too little about the future, but above all about concealing political conflicts of the coalition,” said Schäfer.
BSW boss Sahra Wagenknecht criticized the significantly increasing defense spending. “100 billion euros more for weapons and tanks, a tripling of armor expenditure within four years, that’s just sick,” she said. This is a “gigantic tax incineration” that the country does not make it safer. Instead, cuts in pension, care and health were now threatened. “Future generations will repay the upgrade loans if the tanks have long since rusted,” Wagenknecht warned.
The cabinet should decide on Klingbeil’s budget plans today, after which the Bundestag and the Federal Council are on the train. The left has also already had significant criticism of the high defense spending.
