Many companies complain of high electricity prices. The federal government now wants to relieve consumers such as companies.
According to the Federal Government’s will, energy prices will decrease for consumers and companies. This was announced by Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil at the presentation of his budget design in Berlin. “We want to get into a first effective reduction in electricity prices for industry, trade and private households,” said the SPD boss. This should increase the purchasing power of citizens and the competitiveness of the economy.
As of January 1st, three measures were to take effect: Consumers would be relieved of the cost of the gas storage levy, the reduction in electricity tax for industry, agricultural and forestry would be “stabilized”, and the federal government accepts a significantly stronger share of the costs of network expansion. Energy safety and climate protection would be less financed by the electricity bill in the future.
