The federal government plans to make 850 billion euros in debt by 2029. According to the Junge Union, the risks can only be cushioned with a large -scale reform project.
The Black and Red government’s budget plans are criticized by the young Union. Its chairman Johannes Winkel calls the new debt planned by 2029 of 850 billion euros “breathtaking”. “This bet at the expense of the young generation can only arise if this creates massive economic growth,” he told the German Press Agency.
To do this, it must be made up for what Union and SPD was lacking in the coalition negotiations: a comprehensive welfare state reform. “If this does not come, the young generation will be deprived of its future crises by debt, interest and out of control.”
The cabinet decided on Tuesday’s first draft budget by Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil. The SPD leader then defended the high debts. It is important to take money in your hand now so that the economy is growing. “I think nothing is more expensive than standstill in recent years,” he said.
The Junge Union is the independent youth organization of the CDU and CSU. According to it, it has around 90,000 members.
