The ceasefire between Israel and Iran seems to keep. But for Israel this is not the end of all fights. Now Gaza is coming back into focus. Suffering and dying continues there.
Despite the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, the leadership of the Jewish state does not see the fight against the arch enemy and its allies as ended. Regardless of the “enormous achievements” in the fight against Iran’s nuclear program and rocket arsenal, Israel’s government does not intend to “take the foot from the pedal,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He wanted to “overcome the fight against the Iranian axis”, defeat the associated Islamist Hamas in the Gaza Strip and reach the release of all hostages.
If the management of the Islamic Republic is trying to restore the Iranian nuclear program, Israel will “act with the same determination and strength” to prevent this, warned Netanyahu.
“The regime is struck, but still fatal,” the “Wall Street Journal” quoted an Iran expert from the Foundation Foundation for Defense of Democracies based in Washington. Despite the military successes in the war against Iran, it was premature to “celebrate a triumphal march”.
“We have completed an important phase, but the use against Iran is not over yet,” said Israel’s chief of staff Ejal Zamir, without naming details. “Now the focus is on Gaza again-to bring the hostages home and fall the Hamas regime.” On the other hand, relatives of the kidnapped in the violence of the Palestinian terrorist organization require a stop of the Gaza War in order not to endanger the life of hostages.
Hostage-related demands at the end of the Gaza War
“We are calling for the government to urgently take negotiations that bring all the hostages back and end the war,” said a message from the hostage forum. “Anyone who is able to achieve a ceasefire with Iran can also end the war in Gaza.” According to official Israeli information, 22 living hostages are recorded in the sealed coastal strip. 28 others are therefore only about handing over their remains.
Meanwhile, there is again a bloody incident near a distribution center for humanitarian aid goods north of the city of Rafah in the south of the sealed coastal strip. According to Palestinian information, 25 Palestinian civilians were killed and dozens were injured when Israeli soldiers opened the fire for waiting ends. Israel’s army stated that the incident was not known to her.
Reports about other deaths in Gaza
The Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirad said that after a similar incident in the center of the coastal strip, 19 corpses and more than 100 injuries were brought to the clinic. There, too, people had waited for humanitarian aid. Eyewitnesses reported on an Israeli air raid on the waiting people. Israel’s army said that she was aware of reports on injuries by shelling the army. In contrast, the military initially did not provide any information about the dead. The details are currently being examined.
Meanwhile, the Israeli homeland protection took up all restrictions for its own population in the evening after the ceasefire between Israel and Iran. For example, school lessons can take place again in the classroom. Only in some areas near the Gaza Strip there are still editions.
Iran’s president promises return to normality
The Iranian President Massud Peseschkian also prospect a return to everyday life for their own population and praised the resistance of his compatriots. In a message to the nation, he spoke of the “end of a twelve -day war”, which was imposed on the Iranian people of Israel. “As of today, the government and the responsible institutions will start reconstruction and restore normality,” said Peseschkian.
According to the head of the Iranian atomic energy authority, the production process in the country’s nuclear facilities is to be continued without interruption. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghtschi also emphasized that the nuclear program would be held.
The Iranian leadership always asserts that it does not want to build nuclear weapons, but only pursue a civilian program for the use of nuclear energy. However, there are doubts about this presentation – also because Iran in the past was the only nuclear -free state of uranium with almost gun -compatible purity.
Media: US attack has only slowed down nuclear program
According to a secret service report, the US attacks in Iran, however, have only thrown the nuclear program back by a few months. A first assessment comes to the conclusion that the weekend bombing of the weekend could not completely destroy the underground nuclear facilities, as the newspaper “New York Times” and the broadcaster CNN reported. They referred to civil servants who are familiar with the report of the Military Secret Service (DIA) classified as “strictly secret”.
After the US attacks, US President Donald Trump had spoken of the fact that the nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natans and Fordo had been completely destroyed. We were talking about a death blow to the Iranian nuclear program.
The five -sided intelligence report assumes that Iran had already moved its existence of enriched uranium to other places before the attacks, as the “New York Times” continued. According to CNN, the attack is said to have thrown the Iranian nuclear program back by less than six months.
In both media reports, which Trump abatters as “fake news”, it was emphasized that it was a first report and could lead to further examinations for other conclusions. The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, meanwhile emphasized the need to resume the work of his authority in Iran. This is “the key to a successful diplomatic agreement to finally invest the dispute over the Iranian atomic activities”, he was cited in a statement published by the IAEA on Tuesday evening.
IAEA boss: Atomic inspectors must continue work in Iran
Grossi had illustrated the Iranian Foreign Minister Araghtschi in a letter how important this cooperation was and suggested an early meeting, the statement said. The IAEA’s inspectors remained in Iran throughout the duration of the conflict. As soon as possible, they are ready to return to the nuclear facilities and to check the stocks of nuclear material. Among them are more than 400 kilograms of uranium with an almost weapon -compatible purity degree of 60 percent.
Nothing is publicly known about the whereabouts of this highly enclosed material. According to diplomats, several atomic bombs could be manufactured if the uranium was further enriched to 90 percent, which is considered a relatively small step. Most recently, representatives of the leadership in Tehran fed speculations that Iran could suspend the cooperation with the IAEA.
