Donald Trump sees himself as a big peace bringer in the Middle East conflict. The war in the Gaza Strip between Hamas and Israel could soon end.
US President Donald Trump has been optimistic about the end of the conflict between Israel and the radical Islamic Hamas in the Gaza Strip. “I think great progress is made in the Gaza strip, I think because of the attack that we have carried out,” said Trump on Wednesday. He thus referred to the attacks of the United States to Iranian nuclear facilities on Sunday night, which in his opinion had a positive impact on the situation in the Middle East.
In the meantime, a high -ranking representative of the radical Islamic Hamas told the AFP news agency that there were discussions about a ceasefire with Israel with the mediation of other countries. “Communication with the intermediaries in Egypt and Qatar has been unbroken and has intensified in the past few hours,” said Taher al-Nunu. So far, the group has “not received any new proposals” to end the war.

The war was triggered by the major attack by Hamas and with it allied Islamist fighter on Israel on October 7, 2023. According to Israeli information, more than 1210 people were killed, 251 others were dragged into the Gaza Strip as hostages.
Since then, Israel has been in the coastal strip in a massive militarily. According to the health authority controlled by the Hamas, more than 56,000 people have so far been killed. In this case, Trump also wants to be considered a peace bearer.
