Merkel misses bouquets of flowers and chancellor kitchen

The ex-chancellor finds that her schedule is no longer so tight. But she likes to think back to some things from time as head of government – also for very practical reasons.
The floral decoration in the Chancellery and “The Great Chancellor Kitchen” missed ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) the most since she left office. Flower bouquets were wonderfully arranged there every day, the 70-year-old enthused at a award ceremony for her book “Freiheit” in Baden-Baden. “You came in there, you had a difficult day ahead of you, and it was always really well decorated.” She already knew that she would miss the flowers in terms of office.
Klöckner reveals Merkel’s answer to her Thermomix swarm shop
It is a bit more banal in the kitchen. “I have to get my food back now,” said Merkel when asked by a student. Bundestag president Julia Klöckner (CDU) in her eulogy had told that she once raved about Merkel from her Thermomix, in which she prepared soups of all kinds. Merkel only replied dryly: “I can cook.”
The market research company Media Control from Baden-Baden awarded Merkel with the Gold Award for the first time for her bestseller “Freiheit” (Kiepenheuer & Witsch). According to the book, the book of 2024/2025 and the most successful biography of the past ten years.
