Even days after the air raids, the extent of the damage is still unclear. Has the Iranian nuclear program been thrown back by years or only months? One even speaks of “total extinguishing”.
How much Iran’s nuclear facilities have been damaged in the latest US attacks? On this disputed question, US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth wants to comment on a press conference together with high-ranking military. According to the U.S. other CIA, the Iranian nuclear facilities are said to have caused severe damage in the attacks on Sunday. It is not clear whether this is the case – and is currently hardly independent.
In a initial assessment of the military secret service DIA classified as “strictly secret”, it was initially said that the Iranian nuclear program had only been thrown back by a few months due to the severe air strikes of the US armed forces. The White House criticized the publication of knowledge from this expert opinion by US media and rejected the presentation as wrong. President Donald Trump insists that the nuclear facilities have been completely destroyed.
CIA: Reconstruction of the nuclear facilities would take years
CIA boss John Ratcliffe now said that the reconstruction of the nuclear facilities would take “years”. US secret service coordinator Tulsi Gabbard also wrote on the platform X that a possible reconstruction of the facilities in Fordo, Natans and ISFAhan would take years.
At the end of March, Gabard had declared the US Senate’s intelligence agency that, according to the intelligence services, Iran is currently not building an atomic bomb. With their new statements, she and the CIA now seem to support the statements by the top commander Trump, who is not known for it. He had described the attacks he had ordered from the weekend as a death blow for the Iranian nuclear program. At the NATO summit in the Hague, he said with a view to the nuclear facilities: “I think it was a total extinction.”
The background of the attacks is fears that the Iranian leadership secretly drove nuclear weapons, while publicly asserting that they want to use nuclear energy for civil purposes solely. The latter is also questioned because Iran has been the only state without nuclear weapons to produce highly enriched uranium with almost gun -compatible purity.
The newspaper “The Jerusalem Post”, citing Israeli civil servants, reported that it was unclear how much of the highly -enriched uranium was destroyed in the attacks. In addition, it should not be said with certainty whether part of the radioactive material can be recovered from the attacked systems.
Solidarity with Netanyahu: Trump is shining against Israel’s judiciary
After the military operation coordinated with Israel’s government in Iran, Trump criticized the Israeli judiciary because of the corruption proceedings against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “I am shocked that the state of Israel, who has just experienced one of his greatest moments in history and is conducted by Bibi Netanyahu, continues the ridiculous witch hunt against his prime minister,” Trump wrote on his news platform Truth Social. The procedure against Netanyahu should be discontinued immediately.
Netanyahu is charged with fraud, infidelity and bribery. Among other things, he is accused of granting the Telekom giant Bezeq benefits as a communication minister. He is also said to have accepted luxury gifts from friendly billionaires. Netanyahu has always rejected the allegations and spoke of a “witch hunt”.
Air Force flies other Germans from Israel
Despite the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, the Air Force has flown out other Germans from Israel. “The ceasefire between Israel and Iran continues. Even if the situation calms down: With the Bundeswehr, another 76 Germans leave the region as part of the assisted departure,” said the Federal Foreign Office on X. A total of almost 800 Germans with special flights were supported in the departure.
Siedler attack Palestinian village – three dead through shots
While the weapons between Israel and Iran are silent for the time being, the situation in the Palestinian areas remains tense. After an attack of Israeli settlers on a Palestinian village in the West Bank, fatal confrontations occurred there. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, three Palestinians were killed by shots in the village of Kufr Malik. Seven other people were injured, one of them life -threatening. According to residents, settlers and soldiers emit shots.
The Israeli forces said dozens of Israelis in the village. Afterwards there were confrontations between Israeli and Palestinian civilians who had thrown each other with stones. As a result, soldiers and police forces had moved into the village and tried to end the argument. When they were shot at, they had returned the fire, the military said. There were several deaths and injuries.
