Prien: Bundesmilliarden secured for digital pact school

According to Federal Minister of Education Karin Prien, the funding of digital pact 2.0 is secured for schools on the part of the federal government. In the current legislature, 2.5 billion euros from the special fund for infrastructure would be available, said the CDU politician at the Bildungsministerkonferenz in Klütz in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In addition, according to the current status, another four billion euros for educational tasks would come from the special fund.
According to earlier agreements, the federal states are borne by another 2.5 billion euros for the new edition of the digital pact. According to a decision by the Federal Balent, Prien expects the federal states to be completed by autumn in early September and negotiations with the money that the money can flow in 2026. “Of course we can also talk about the early start of measures,” she said.

The digital pact is intended to improve the digital equipment of the schools with laptops and other devices. At the first school of digital pact, which expired in May last year, the federal government had participated in 6.5 billion euros since 2019 and supported 90 percent of the expenses. Countries and municipalities only had to take over ten percent.
