Terror plans at Swift concert: presumed helper charged

Last summer, three Taylor swift concerts were canceled in Vienna for terrorist risk. In Berlin, a man is now accused of helping the preparations for the stop.
The Federal Prosecutor has charged a young person who is said to have helped a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna to prepare a attack last summer. As the Karlsruhe authority announced, the Syrian was in contact with the young man from Austria, who is said to have planned an explosive attack on the music concert.
The young person helped the Austrian by translating a bomb building man from Arabic and contacting a member of the terrorist militia Islamic State (IS) abroad, it said. In addition, he is said to have sent him a text template for the loyalty rig, which it is said to have used in order to join the organization as a member. According to the federal prosecutor, the accused is at large.
Three concerts canceled due to suspicion of terrorism
In August 2024, for fear of terrorist attacks, the organizers had canceled three immediately upcoming concerts by the US pop star Taylor Swift in Vienna. This was preceded by the arrest of two suspects – including a 19 -year -old, who, according to the police, planned attacks in the Vienna area.
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office at the State Protection Senate of the Chamber Court in Berlin raised charges against the alleged accomplice. He is accused of supporting a terrorist association abroad and preparing a serious violence at risk. From mid -July to August 2024 he is said to have been in contact with the Austrian. Next, the Berlin Chamber Court has to decide whether and when it starts a process.
Investigations continue in Austria
Against the main suspect, who is in custody, it is currently still being determined how the Vienna public prosecutor’s office announced to the German Press Agency. In Austria, no further suspected accomplices are known to the investigators.
