Robert Habeck dares on new terrain: in the Berlin Ensemble he will moderate the ‘Habeck Live’ series in the future.
Robert Habeck goes under the Talkmaster. The Greens politician will head a series of talks on the Berlin Ensemble in the coming season.
Under the title “Habeck Live”, the former Vice Chancellor and Ex-Economic Minister “should speak to guests about central social, political and cultural issues of our time”. The Berlin Ensemble promises his interlocutors “personalities from politics, science, culture and civil society”. The order will be a conversation with the journalist Anne Will and Volker Wissing on October 5 at 3 p.m.

Wissing was part of Olaf Scholz ‘Bundeskabinett from 2021 to early 2025 together with Robert Habeck and was responsible for traffic there. After breaking the traffic light coalition, Wissing left the FDP and remained the government until its final end.
The trio wants to go on stage on the topic “Do democracies need emergency?” discuss. Other topics and guests of the “Habeck Live” series are not yet known. The format should take place every six to eight weeks, said Habeck on Instagram. He hopes for “long, deep, quiet conversations with people who may be able to explain the background for all the crises, conflicts and excitement of our time a bit or at least brighten up”.

How Habeck continues in politics is unclear. After the Bundestag election, the 55-year-old had announced that he was saying goodbye to the front row. Since then he has been a simple member of the Bundestag of the Greens. He moved into the parliament via the state list of Schleswig-Holstein after he had lost the Flensburg-Schleswig constituency. In any case, reports of an upcoming complete retreat from federal politics were not clearly denied. Habeck is also under discussion as a lecturer at US top universities.
