Eric Trump is flirting with becoming a US president himself

Trump’s second term in the White House is not yet half a year old, when his second son, Eric Trump, is considering whether he would have grown to the office. How did his father like that?
So far, Eric Trump has always left his older siblings. While Donad Trump Jr., for example, advised his father in the election campaign and later traveled to the island in the middle of the Greenland dispute, the second son of the US President held back. As the co-chair of the Trump family group, Eric Trump is more business than politicians. However, he would not refuse the office of US president, as he revealed in a few days ago.
“I think I could do it,” said the 41-year-old. He was “completely unimpressed” of half of the politicians he see. He could do the job “very effective”, he said.
“The right question would only be: would you like to pull other family members in there. (…) I would want my children to have the same experiences that I have had in the past ten years?” If the answer was “yes”, the political path would be a easier, one that he could take, he said and added: “Apart from that, I think other family members would do that too.”
Eric Trump, Vance, Rubio or Don?
Whether the Republicans will start the next presidential election campaign with Eric Trump does not only depend on himself. US President Donald Trump repeatedly said that he was flirting with a third term. However, this would be necessary for this. The political procedure for this is considered extremely complex and a new candidacy of Trump is unlikely – but not impossible. After all, the US President has repeatedly shown in recent months that he can also rule past judges and laws.
In the currently more likely case that the Republicans will make a new presidential candidate, there are already two possible candidates: Vice President JD Vance and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. In an interview with the “Financial Times”, Eric Trump also admitted that there were other presidential candidates.
And what does Donald Trump say about all of this? The US President has not yet commented on his son’s considerations. In one in front of a few, Trump said when asked if his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., could be his successor: “I don’t know. (…) I think all of them could have a future in politics, frankly. And Don is very good. A good boy,” said the US president, not without referring to his other children. Eric did “fantastic work”. Barron is “great”, as well as Ivana. And Tiffany is a good student.
The US President obviously does not really want to commit himself. But until the time comes, he and the Republicans still have a few months anyway.
