Demonstrators in Israel are calling for the end of the Gaza War

After the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, there is hope that the weapons could soon rest in the Gaza war. In Israel, thousands of people try to put pressure on their government.

In Israel, thousands of people have demonstrated for the end of the war in the Gaza Strip and the release of the hostages recorded there. According to media reports, the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump called on a rally in the coastal metropolis Tel Aviv: “You have made a courageous decision to make Iran. Now make a courageous decision that ends the fights in Gaza and brings everyone back”. The demonstrator referred to the recently achieved ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

Trump had said on Friday that he assumed that “within the next week” a ceasefire could also be reached in Gaza. According to media reports, Israeli officials dampened expectations. Accordingly, there have so far been no significant change in the positions of both sides in the most important issues, including the demand of the terrorist organization Hamas for guarantees for an end to the war in Gaza.

The self -declared goal of the Israeli government in the war on the Gaza Strip that has been going on for more than 20 months is to smash Hamas and get the remaining hostages free. According to official Israeli information, 22 living kidnapped are recorded in Gaza. 28 others are therefore only about handing over their remains.

The war was triggered by the attack by Hamas and other Islamist terrorist organizations to Israel on October 7, 2023, in which around 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 deported to Gaza as hostages.
