Iran: Israel’s attack on Ewin prison demanded 71 dead

On Monday, Israel attacked a notorious prison in Tehran – according to Israeli representation, a symbolic blow against the government. Activists criticized the air raid sharply.
At least 71 people were killed in Israel’s attack on the notorious Ewin prison in Tehran at the beginning of the week. Justice spokesman Asghar Jahangir said according to the judicial portal Mizan. In addition to prison staff, among the “martyrs” are also subject to conscripts, prisoners and family members of prisoners. The information cannot be verified independently.
On Monday, the Israeli Air Force bombed parts of the Ewin prison – according to Israeli representation, a symbolic blow against Iran’s government. Iranian activists and former inmates reacted with sharp criticism: the attack endangered the life of political prisoners and took their fate. Several Europeans are also imprisoned in Ewin.
Inmates moved to other prisons
The prison in the north of Tehran is considered the place to be abused and torture, especially political prisoners. Demonstrators were also imprisoned there because of their participation in the system -critical protests.

The public prosecutor Ali Ghanatkar is also said to be among the dead of the Israeli attack. He is jointly responsible for the conviction of the Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi, who was even in the Ewin prison.
