Russia has been waging war against Ukraine for three years. The new US government has been trying as an intermediary for months. It hardly goes ahead – but Moscow does not see any fault.
The Kremlin has rejected the allegation of a delay tactic during the talks about the end of the Ukraine secretary. Russia is interested in achieving his goals in a diplomatic way, said Kremllagers Dmitri Peskow. “That’s why we are not interested in delaying anything.” An appointment for the third round of direct discussions is currently being coordinated with Ukraine.
Dispute with US special envoy Kellogg
Peskow’s statement is part of a rhetorical examination of the US special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg. After Peskow recently held Ukraine and the United States for the negotiations that had been stagnating for months, Kellogg described the allegations on platform X as “Orwell-like”.
The British writer George Orwell became known through dark future utopias such as the novel “1984”. The surveillance state described there works with contradicting slogans such as “War is peace”, “Freedom is slavery” and “ignorance is strength”.
So far no accommodation from the Kremlin
Under US President Donald Trump, the White House tried to present itself as an intermediary between Moscow and Kiev. Ukraine has dropped a number of its demands such as the return to the pre -war borders. Russia, on the other hand, has not yet deviated from its maximum demands. On the contrary: Recently, Moscow threatened to extend his claims to other parts of the neighbor.
