A ceasefire in the suffering gaza strip is closer: Donald Trump has announced that Israel was ready to hire the fights. He called Hamas to agree with the deal.
According to US President Donald Trump, Israel is ready for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli government “approved the necessary conditions for the completion of a 60-day ceasefire, during which we will work with all sides to end the war,” said Trump on Tuesday (local time) in his online service Truth after a meeting with Israeli and US representatives in Washington. Meanwhile, Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar demanded the release of the remaining Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip.
Trump called for Truth Social at the same time the radical Islamic Hamas in the Gaza Strip to accept a “final proposal” for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which will soon be presented. “The Qatar and the Egyptians who worked hard to contribute to peace will present this final proposal,” Trump continued.
Large majority in Israel supports peace plans
In the interest of the Middle East, he hoped that Hamas would accept this agreement, “because the situation will not improve-it will only deteriorate,” warned the US President.
Israel’s Foreign Minister Saar said on Wednesday that a “large majority” within the government and the population support the plan to liberate the hostages. “If the opportunity is offered, it must not be missed!” He wrote in the online service X. He did not go into Trump’s statements directly.
The Hamas, however, asked the leader of a rival militia in the Gaza Strip to face the authorities there. The leader of the people of the people of the people, Jasser Abu Schabab, had ten days to face up for “betrayal, working with enemies, the formation of an armed group and armed rebellion”. Last month, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced to support an armed group in the Gaza Strip that works against Hamas. According to Israeli and Palestinian media reports, these were Abu Schabab’s forces of the people.
The Swiss Foundation Supervision, meanwhile, announced the dissolution of the Geneva branch of the controversial private foundation Gaza Humanitrian Foundation (GHF), which has been distributed for a few weeks to distribute relief goods in the Gaza Strip. The reason for the measure is several legal requirements that the Swiss GHF branch does not meet.
UN refuses to work with GHF in the Gaza Strip
The UN and large aid organizations refuse to cooperate with the GHF, which is supported by Israel and the USA. They accuse them of aligning themselves according to the plans of the Israeli army and thus violating fundamental humanitarian principles. Chaos and violence also occur again and again at distribution centers of the foundation.
The war in the Gaza Strip was triggered by the major attack by the Islamist Palestinian organization Hamas and with it allied fighters on Israel on October 7, 2023. According to Israeli information, more than 1200 people were killed. 251 people were delayed as hostages in the Gaza strips. 49 hostages are still captured by the Islamists, at least 27 of them are dead according to the army.
Since then, Israel has massively militarily accomplished in the Gaza Strip in response to the Hamas robbery. Since the beginning of the war, according to the Ministry of Health controlled by the Hamas, which cannot be checked independently, more than 57,000 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip.
The civil protection in the Gaza Strip controlled by Hamas accused that at least 25 people were killed in Israeli attacks on Wednesday. Among other things, five people were killed in an Israeli attack on a camp for displaced persons. Another five were killed when Israeli soldiers opened fire near a distribution center.
