With pithy words, Donald Trump had praised the success of the US attacks on Iran and criticized skeptical voices. The Ministry of Defense is now slowing down.
US President Donald Trump claimed that the air raids on Iran had “wiped out” his nuclear facilities. Now the Ministry of Defense admits that the Iranian nuclear program is only thrown back by one to two years.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell referred to journalists on internal evaluations of intelligence skills. After that, Iran’s enrichment program was “thrown back by at least one to two years,” said Parnell. However, the Ministry of Defense is more of two years.
Bombs on three nuclear facilities in Iran
As part of the “midnight hammer” assignment ordered by Trump, the United States had attacked three nuclear facilities in Iran on the night of June 22nd with bunker -breaking bombs. It was the Fordo, Natans and Isfahan’s facilities. Trump then compared the effect with the US atomic bombing on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), on the other hand, assumes that Iran could start the enrichment again in a few months. IAEA boss Rafael Grossi said this in an interview at the end of June.
Iran has now officially exposed cooperation with the nuclear energy authority. The US State Department criticized this as “unacceptable”. How big the stocks of enriched uranium are still cannot be checked independently.
