Saxony-Anhalt’s Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff has asked the Federal Government to ensure broad relief in Germany for electricity tax. “I further advocate to remain with the commitments made in the coalition agreement to reduce electricity tax for everyone to the European minimum. Germany needs growth and trust in political commitments. “The economy has to be relieved. And economy is more than industry.”

The heads of the Union and the SPD had confirmed the line not to reduce the electricity tax for private consumers for the time being, as was still promised in the coalition agreement.
