Trump sees himself as the winner that most of the Republicans celebrate. They promise a boost for the United States from a new law. But many others have doubts.
According to the YES of the US Congress on the Tax and Expenses Act, critics have the concern that millions of Americans will suffer from the health and social sector. For US President Donald Trump, the law, which he calls “Big Beautiful Bill” (“Big, Beautiful Law”), is a great success. What effects will it have …
The debt mountain is likely to be much larger in the United States. According to an assessment of the household office of the US Congress “Congressional Budget Office”, the deficit will increase by the law within the next ten years by around 3.3 trillion $ (around EUR 2.8 trillion). The United States currently has a debt of around $ 36 trillion (around 30.5 trillion euros). The law is intended to increase the scope for new debts by $ 5 trillion.
A criticism of the law is that medical care for millions could worsen. Ex-President Barack Obama warned days ago on the X: “More than 16 million Americans run the risk of losing their health care.” The background is intended cuts in the US health system Medicaid. The Democrat Obama warned that the law will be implemented, which will harm families of the working class for generations.
Again and again critics Trump accused of doing more for the rich through tax relief – at the expense of the poorer. Critics see negative consequences for seniors, but also for children – for example because state food aid is to be shortened. Trump defends the step. One wants to urge illegal foreigners from the health system and programs for food aid – in return, border protection should be strengthened with staff.
The White House described it as myth that the law disadvantaged the poor and serves the rich. “Employees with low incomes receive the greatest percentage reduction in their tax liability,” it says. As an example that people should also benefit with smaller monks, Trump led his slogan “No Tax on Tips” – so no tax on drinking money. Overtime should also be tax -free.
… on the interim elections
Despite his domestic success, Trump has taken a risk. In autumn 2026, the intermediate elections are due to the congress. Restheses among the population for the politics of the Republicans will also depend on whether positive effects are adjusted by the “Big Beautiful Bill”. Trump was able to win the election last year because he promised to reduce the costs for consumers – if the opposite should now occur, he would cheat on voters. The TV broadcaster CNN dented several survey results on Friday, which should suggest that the country was split in the law.
Trump knows all of this and went to the campaign mode in front of followers in Iowa: “Not a single democrat voted for us,” he said, referring to the votes in the US Congress. Trump wants to have something like this against the Democrats through expected successes of the law: “I think we can use that in the election campaign for the upcoming intermediate elections”. The Democrats are likely to solve the law in view of the cuts in the health sector and social assistance as well as the effects on the public debt for the election campaign.
