Israel’s Premier Netanyahu believes that US President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. The war in Gaza continues. Meanwhile, Israel plans the “voluntary” emigration of Gaza residents.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. At the beginning of a dinner together in the White House, he praised Trump’s “striving for peace and security, which they cite in many countries, but now especially in the Middle East”. Trump smiths “at that moment peace, in one country, in one region after another”. Then Netanyahu Trump submitted a letter to the Nobel Prize Committee to nominate the US President for the Peace Prize.
“They deserve it and they should get him,” said the Israeli head of government, who himself continues to war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. “Wow,” replied Trump. “It is very meaningful from them.”
Anyone who has been nominated for Nobel Prices is traditionally kept secret by the noble institutions in Stockholm and Oslo for 50 years. Again and again it happens that nomination entitled to disclose who they recommend as a candidate for one of the prizes. Anyone who will receive the Nobel Peace Prize this year will be announced on October 10th.
Five Israeli soldiers killed in the Gaza Strip
The US President was confident that an agreement between Israel and Hamas will come about an ceasefire and the release of hostages. “You want to meet and you want these ceasefire”. He had been asked by journalists present whether an incident in northern Gazas with killed Israeli soldiers would affect the ongoing placement talks. “I don’t think,” said Trump.
Shortly before, according to the army, five soldiers had been killed when they apparently became an ambush. After initial investigations, they were killed in Beit Hanun in the north of the Gaza Strip by a bomb placed on the side of the road, reported Israeli media, citing the military. 14 soldiers were injured, two of them seriously. When trying to rescue the injured, the armed forces were under fire, according to the investigation in this area, the “Times of Israel” reported.
US envoy: have chance for peace agreements
According to the White House, Trump’s special representative for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, will again travel to the Qatarian capital Doha this week in order to take part in the indirect conversations about a deal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages. The spokeswoman for the White House, Karoline Leavitt, did not call one date. According to information from the “Times of Israel”, Witkoff is still opening today. “We have the chance to finally achieve a peace agreement,” said Witkoff.
The “Times of Israel” learned from diplomatic circles, Trump wanted to reach a ceasefire deal by the end of this week. The spokeswoman for the White House praised Qatar and Egypt as “incredibly helpful partners in the mediation of these negotiations and discussions to bring peace to this region and to end this conflict once”. He thinks “that we can achieve peace between us and the entire Middle East under the leadership of President Trump,” said Israel’s head of government.
Netanyahu: We do not commit suicide
The question of journalists whether a two -state solution was possible had Trump answered his Israeli guest. The Palestinians should be able to rule themselves, but security will “always stay in our hands,” emphasized Netanyahu. “We don’t commit suicide,” added the head of government. A two -state solution means an independent Palestinian state who lives peacefully side by side with Israel.
Israel and the United States are “shortly to find several countries” that Palestinians would absorb, who would like to leave the Gaza strip devastated by the war, said Netanyahu. “I think President Trump had a brilliant vision. This is called a free choice. If people want to stay, they can stay; but if they want to go, they should go.”
Trump had explained in early February that the USA could take over the Gaza Strip, plan the war -destroyed area, rebuild and transform it into a “Riviera of the Middle East”. The more than two million Palestinians would have to be resettled. In the past, Israeli government officials had announced several times to drive the “voluntary” emigration of a significant part of the almost more than two million residents of the sealed coastal strip.
Israel plans to collect hundreds of thousands of Gaza residents
According to media reports, Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz has already ordered the planning of a huge reception camp for 600,000 Palestinians displaced by the war in southern Gaza. This should weaken the power of Hamas. Katz therefore spoke of a “humanitarian city” on the ruins of the city of Rafah destroyed in the Gaza War.
The new camp should be created during the 60-day break, about which Israel and Hamas are currently negotiating indirectly in Doha. It should be managed by “international partners”. The Israeli military would secure the environment. The warehouse will also serve to implement the emigration plan for the Palestinians. “Because it will come,” the media cited the minister. So far, however, not a single country in the world has agreed to accept a significant number of Palestinians from Gaza.
More radical forces in Israel, including some right-wing extremist ministers of the right-religious government of Netanyahu, speak openly about the forced deportations of the Gaza population and the establishment of Jewish settlements in Gaza. According to experts, a forced relocation would violate international law.
