US President Trump accuses Putin of telling nonsense. And according to a report, is considering delivering Ukraine an anti -aircraft system. Are these more than just indications of changing the course?
According to a report, US President Donald Trump is considering delivery of an additional air defense system to Ukraine and thus indicating a possible change of course in his attitude in the war. According to “Wall Street Journal” (WSJ), he is considering sending Kiev an additional Patriot air defense system in view of the massive Russian attacks. This would approved the delivery of a larger weapon system to Kiev for the first time, which goes beyond the number promised by the government of his predecessor Joe Biden. At the same time, Trump was annoyed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and accused him of telling a lot of nonsense.
Trump had already spoken out for a quick end of the war and emphasized that he was not happy with Putin at all. Now he said in the White House on Tuesday, Putin does not treat people properly, he kills too many people. Therefore, the United States would send some defense weapons to Ukraine – he had approved it. Trump added: “We get a lot of nonsense from Putin.” He was very nice all the time, “but it turns out that it is meaningless”.
Just a few weeks ago, Trump had accused the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj to extend the war with statements. On the other hand, he showed understanding to Putin and, such as that of Ukraine’s NATO joining, on the line of Russia on central questions. Despite all the appeals of Trump, Putin refused to sit down at a table with Selenskyj for peace talks.
Report: Trump is considering delivery of Patriot system
The “WSJ” now reported two civil servants, Trump was considering sending Ukraine an additional Patriot Aircraft system. Accordingly, the White House asked the Pentagon for the delivery for the delivery of additional weapons, including a patriot system.
So far, the United States has provided three patriot systems, Germany has delivered another three and a consortium of European countries has sent one, as a former Pentagon official said according to “WSJ”. However, not all of them are ready for use due to maintenance work.
Selenskyj expects soon deliveries
The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj made it clear after new conversations with US representatives, and soon to be expected to deliver arms from the United States. “Above all, this affects the air defense and also all other elements of deliveries from America,” said the head of state in his daily video message.
He had given Defense Minister Rustem Umjerow and the commander -in -chief Olexander Syrskyj instruction to “intensify all contacts with the American side”. The necessary explanations and decisions for the sub -stop of armor deliveries came from Washington.
Ukraine urgently needs Patriot aircraft systems in order to better protect themselves from the constant Russian air and rocket attacks. Because of the stronger attacks, Kyiv urges the western allies to strengthen the country’s air defense. According to “WSJ”, it is also checked whether other countries Kiev could provide other patriot systems.
The patriot flight defense rocket system produced in the USA is one of the most modern in the world. With it, enemy aircraft, ballistic rockets and marching missiles are combated. At a distance of about 100 kilometers and at heights of 30 kilometers, the defense rockets in a thought bell can hit goals – depending on the steering aircraft used. With a radar, the Patriot system initially classifies which flight objects belong to the enemy in the sky. In the event of a threat, soldiers in the control center fire the steering aircraft to make the goals harmless.
Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian invasion for more than three years. Moscow’s military has been trying to overload the neighboring country’s air defense.
CNN: Hegseth informed white house not about delivery stop
Last week it was said that the USA stopped the delivery of some of the weapons that have already been promised – including anti -aircraft missiles. The broadcaster CNN now reported five people familiar with the matter that Defense Minister Pete Hegseth had not informed the White House before he had approved the interruption of arms deliveries to Ukraine last week. This triggered hectic efforts to understand the government to understand the reasons for the interruption and to explain it to the congress and the Ukrainian government.
Russia continues to attack
According to media reports, Russia once again attacked hundreds of kilometers from the front line with rockets and drones. Citing the Ukrainian Air Force, “The Kyiv Independent” reported, drones moved towards the cities of Lutsk, Chmelnyzkyj and Ternopil.
The RBK-Ukraine news agency reported that the residents of the northwestern city of Lutsk are instructed to seek protection. According to the regional radio, explosions in the city were heard.
According to “The Kyiv Independent”, explosions were also reported in places closer to the front line such as Sumy, Saporischschja or Dnipro. Reporters of explosions in the capital Kyiv would also have reported. According to the mayor Vitali Klitschko, the center was attacked and the air defense was active. A woman was injured near the capital, as it was called to refer to the regional military administration.
The Air Force had previously warned of rockets and drones from Russia the evening. Accordingly, at least one of the hard -to -catch hyper -shams of the Kin scarf (dagger) in the direction of the West Ukrainian area Schytomyr had been fired. There had been air alarm across the country.
Dead also registered from Kursk
In the meantime, at least three people were killed by a drone in the West Russian city of Kursk. Another six people were injured, as governor Alexander Chinschtein announced on Tuesday at Telegram. He accused the Ukrainian army attack on a beach in the big city with more than 400,000 inhabitants. Kursk is only 90 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border.
