Because a Chinese ship is said to have directed a laser on a German aircraft, there is diplomatic upset. Beijing rejects the allegations. But Berlin speaks of clear indications.
Despite the contradiction from Beijing, the federal government states that a Chinese warship has used a laser against a German aircraft. A spokeswoman for the Federal Foreign Office emphasized in Berlin that the order of the Chinese ambassador was “certainly not lightly”, but was based on existing findings and basic examinations. The Federal Ministry of Defense also spoke of “clear indications” for such a laser use.
According to German information, a Chinese warship had directed a laser in the Red Sea in the Red Sea in the Red Sea without reason and prior contact.
