The US President was recently annoyed by President Putin. Now Trump is commenting on a report that focused on a possible important arms delivery to Ukraine.
According to President Donald Trump, the United States will examine Ukraine’s wish for an additional Patriot Aviation System. The “Wall Street Journal” (WSJ) reported on Tuesday (local time) that Trump was considering sending the country another such weapon system in view of the massive Russian attacks. When asked whether he could confirm this, Trump said to journalists about Ukraine: “You would like to have it. You asked for it.”
Such weapon systems are very rare because many were sent to Ukraine. He knew that Ukraine had asked for another patriot system, said Trump. “We will have to see it.” It is a very, very expensive system.
If the United States opted for this, it would be the first time that Trump approved the delivery of a larger weapon system to Kiev that goes beyond the number approved by the government of its predecessor Joe Biden. Trump had recently been upset by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He accused him of adding “a lot of nonsense” and criticized, Putin killed too many people.
What Ukraine Patriot systems needs for
Ukraine urgently needs Patriot aircraft systems in order to better protect themselves from the constant Russian air and rocket attacks. The patriot flight defense rocket system produced in the USA is one of the most modern in the world. With it, enemy aircraft, ballistic rockets and marching missiles are combated.
The United States has so far provided three patriot systems, Germany has delivered another three and a consortium of European countries has sent one, a former Pentagon official said according to “WSJ”. However, not all of them are ready for use due to maintenance work.
Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian invasion for more than three years. Moscow’s military has been trying to overload the neighboring country’s air defense.
