In Qatar, negotiations are being made about a ceasefire and the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip. Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu hopes that it will happen soon. At the same time, he threatens Hamas.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conjured up victory over Islamist Hamas during the efforts to be in the Gaza Strip. “We will defeat these monsters and get our hostages back,” Netanyahu told the Ultraconservative US broadcaster Newsmax. He hoped that “in a few days” as part of a 60-day ceasefire, which is currently being negotiated indirectly, ten of the hostages still living will come free, said the head of government.
At the beginning of the ceasefire, talks should also be recorded in order to end the war permanently, Netanyahu said, according to his office, in a statement at the end of his visit to the USA. However, in order to be able to achieve this, Israel’s conditions would have to be fulfilled, Netanyahu explained: Hamas puts the weapons down, has no more state or military skills, and Gaza is also demilized. If these claims are not met by negotiations within the 60 days, Israel will achieve this by force.
There are still 50 hostages in Gaza, Netanyahu told the newsmax. “20 are definitely alive, and about 30 are not alive and I want to get them all out”. One now has an agreement that Hamas will initially release ten hostages and hand over half the number of corpses. But he will also get all the other dragging out, the living like the dead. “I hope we can complete this in a few days,” the Israeli head of government told the US broadcaster.
