At the Ukraine Reduction Conference in Rome, the US special envoy Keith Kellogg already had talks with Ukrainian representatives. Now he is traveling to the war country for several days.
The Ukraine, who is responsible for Ukraine, wants to travel to Kiev next Monday. “We’ll be there for a week,” said Kellogg at the Ukraine Run construction conference in Rome to the Ukrainian news portal Nowyny.Live. The spokesman for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Horhij Tychyj, confirmed the visit a little later. For the time being, there was no information about the planned meetings.
Ukraine has been fighting against the Russian invasion with western support for more than three years. US President Donald Trump had campaigned for a quick end to the fight, but so far, among other things, has exerted pressure on Kiev with reduced arms deliveries. Most recently, his public position towards Moscow had become more critical.
In the Trump administration, Kellogg is considered the politician who is most likely to sympathize with Kiev. In his part, Trump himself has promised an “important explanation” of Russia for Monday.
