Trump announces 30 percent tariffs on EU products from August
The EU had hoped for a trade agreement with the USA. But US President Donald Trump preferred to from the EU from August 1st with tariffs.
US President Donald Trump has announced that he will raise an inch of 30 percent of August 1. The Republican wrote this on his Truth social platform. In the event of countermeasures, Trump threatened further customs increases.
The letter threatens a further escalation of the trade conflict. The European Union and the United States had recently tried to find a mutual solution in weeks of discussions.
The United States is the most important trading partner for Germany. With his customs policy, the Republican wants to correct alleged trade weights and achieve that more is produced in the United States.
