A man will be arrested in Aarhus in Danish at the end of June. The federal prosecutor accuses him of having spied on Iran in Berlin. Now the man is in Germany – and in custody.

After the arrest of an alleged spy for an Iranian secret service in Denmark, the accused was custody in Germany. As the federal prosecutor said, the investigative judge of the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) in Karlsruhe put the arrest warrant against the Danes in enforcement.



The federal prosecutor accuses him of having spied out Jewish places and people in Berlin on behalf of Iran. In this way, attacks should be prepared in this way. On June 26, the top German law enforcement officers had the 53-year-old man, who has Afghan roots, arrested in Aarhus in Danish. It was transferred to Germany on Monday.

Israel’s foreign secret service Mossad involved

A source familiar with the topic confirmed to the German Press Agency that the Israeli foreign intelligence agency Mossad was involved.



Iran rejects allegations

The arrested person is suspected of having made preparations for arson attacks, said Dobrindt. Among other things, he is said to have tried to hire people who carry out these attacks. The Federal Foreign Office ordered the Iranian ambassador after the arrest.





Iran decidedly rejected the allegations. The Iranian embassy in Berlin spoke of “unfounded and dangerous claims”, as the government -related news agency ISNA reported. The allegations are part of a campaign to distract from Israel’s war against Iran.

Israel had attacked Iran on June 13 and bombed goals nationwide. As a reason, the government led the threat of Iran’s controversial nuclear program – Israel feared that the Islamic Republic could build an atomic bomb. Iran denies this and reacted with rocket and drone attacks. In the meantime, a ceasefire applies.
