The Polish head of state Duda will soon be out of office and does the last legal file. A political signal sends a decree.

Poland President Andrzej Duda issued a punishment to the legal activist Robert Bakiewicz shortly before he left – the organizer of his own citizens’ owners on the border with Germany. This was announced by the Polish General Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, as the news agency Pap reported.

The act of mercy for Bakiewicz is not about the current protests at the border. The leader of ultra -right marches in Warsaw had been sentenced to non -profit work for coercion of a demonstrator in 2020 – Duda issued this part of the punishment.

Right volunteers are looking for migrants at border

In the political Poland, the step of the outgoing national conservative head of state was also understood as support for Bakiewicz ‘current acting. Volunteers of his “movement to defend the borders” had searched for migrants from Germany on the border before the Polish border protection introduced its own controls again on July 7th. Since then, the right vigilante has been holding back, but is still present. Right activists had spread the rumor, German officials transported asylum seekers who had not been in Poland beforehand.

Dudas was criticized in the ruling center-left warehouse. “The pardon of an ordinary criminal is an unimaginable scandal,” said Senate President Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska from the Citizens’ Coalition. In contrast, both the national conservative opposition party PIS and the future President Karol Nawrocki praised Bakiewicz’s activities. Duda hands over the presidential office to Nawrocki on August 6th.
