The death of the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein outraged Donald Trump’s basis – although he sees the case as done. Now even faction leader Mike Johnson faces him.

The Epstein affair will not get rid of Donald Trump so quickly. Now his own party friend Mike Johnson is also interfering and calls on to publish the file of the deceased sex offender-although the US government, including the US President, does not see any sense in it.

Johnson, group leader of the Republicans, was for “transparency”, as he said in an interview with the conservative podcaster Benny Johnson. “We have to put everything on the table and let people decide.”

He also demanded that Trump’s Minister of Justice Pam Bondi have to “explain” some disagreements in her statements about the Epstein affair. Bondi did not want to comment on the opportunity to publish new elements in the matter. “Our memorandum speaks for itself,” she said now, referring to an earlier explanation.

Was Epstein eliminated by the “deep state”?

In the election campaign, she and the head of the federal police FBI, Kash Patel, had fueled speculation, according to which there was a secret “customer list” Epstein with prominent names from the democratic party or Hollywood. Some Trump supporters even spread the conspiracy count that Epstein was therefore eliminated by a “deep state”.

At the beginning of July, however, Bondi and Patel released a surprising memo: no “stressful ‘customer list'” was found – and, as previously assumed, Epstein committed suicide in prison. There is no further information in this case. The reactions from Trump’s Make-America Great Again camp were violent.

The US billionaire Epstein was found dead in his prison cell in Manhattan in 2019. The investment banker had been accused of misused numerous girls and young women.

Because of earlier statements about Epstein, Trump is also the focus of the affair. In 2002 he had still called his neighbor Epstein as “great guys” and said that he might be “beautiful women as well as me” – and many of them were rather young.

Donald Trump no longer understands his basis

Trump’s name had also appeared in later approved documents for the Epstein affair, but the incidental president was not accused of misconduct. Some in the Maga camp therefore suspected that Trump himself is on the alleged “customer list” and therefore wanted to cover up the matter.

And how does the US president react to the never-ending mistrust? As so often faithful: if there are “credible” information in the case, they should be published, the President recently said that the deciding on this is the responsibility of the Minister of Justice.

After that, however, Trump expressed angrily to the allegations of his followers. “We are in a team, Maga, and I don’t like what happens,” he said on Truth Social.

Finally, on Tuesday, he also said that he did not understand “why the Jeffrey Epstein case might be interested in someone. This is pretty boring stuff. He’s been dead for a long time. I don’t understand where the interest or the fascination is.”
