Gaza War: GHF: 20 deaths in unrest at a distribution point in Gaza

According to the controversial Gaza Humanitrian Foundation (GHF), 20 people were killed in unrest at a distribution point for relief supplies in the Gaza Strip. “According to our current knowledge, 19 of the victims were trampled down and one thing stabbed,” said the foundation. “We have credible reasons for the assumption that the armed elements associated with Hamas have targeted the unrest within the crowd.” According to the information, the incident occurred at a distribution center in the city of Chan Junis.

GHF employees had identified firearms in the crowd, it said in a statement from the foundation. An American employee was threatened by a person in the crowd with a firearm during the incident. The information cannot currently be checked independently. At first there was no statement from Hamas.

The GHF Foundation, supported by Israel and the USA, had started its work at the end of May after months of Israeli blockade of aid deliveries. Among other things, the UN criticize that the foundation operates too few distribution centers and that people there and on the way are exposed to great dangers.

Again and again there are reports of fatal incidents near distribution centers. The Israeli army is usually accused of having given shots. According to UN, hundreds of deaths have already been registered in the Gaza Strip at GHF distribution stations.
