Donald Trump insults his own supporter: “stupid” and “weaklings”

US President Donald Trump sees himself rarely confronted with the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein with rarely criticism from his own ranks-and that makes him angry. He now announced hard against disappointed supporters who had hoped for enlightenment from his government. They fell into “deception”, Trump wrote on Wednesday in his online service Truth Social. The Epstein case is a “fraud” – “and my former supporters have completely adopted this crap (‘bullshit’),” complained the president.

“Let these weaklings go on and do the work of the Democrats, don’t even think about speaking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don’t want to support them anymore!” Wrote Trump.

Trump followed up during a performance in the White House. “Some stupid Republicans” went to the Democrats, Trump criticized. He claimed that certain of his party colleagues followed “a screenplay by the Democrats”.

Critical comments from Trump supporters have been piling up on online platforms for days. They accuse the government, not as promised to have brought light into the scandal to have brought the US billionaire Epstein. Publishing the files for the case was one of Trump’s election promise. The arrest of Epstein, who was accused of misused numerous girls and young women, caused a sensation in the USA and worldwide. In 2019 he committed suicide in his prison cell at the age of 66.

President and billionaires went in and out of him-Donald Trump also spent time with Epstein, as several party videos of the two prove. In February, Trump’s Minister of Justice Pam Bondi gave the impression in an interview that there was a list of prominent customers of Epstein and this will soon be released. At the beginning of July, however, Bondi and FBI boss Kash Patel suddenly contested the existence of such a list. Bondi also confirmed in her memo from the beginning of July that Epstein had committed suicide. No further documents on the Epstein case should be published.

Especially against the Minister of Justice, there are massive demand for withdrawal in the affair. Meanwhile, many Trump fans raise the question of whether the president has something to hide in the matter: Trump’s vehement reaction feeds speculation that he could be on an Epstein customer list himself. Trump’s name had appeared in previous documents, but misconduct was not charged to him.

Trump described Epstein in 2002 as “great guys” and said that he may “” beautiful women as well as me, and many of them are on the younger side “. At that time, Epstein was still Trump’s neighbor in Palm Beach in Florida.

In Trump’s Republican Party there is growing concern about the revolt. The majority leader of the party in the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, had asked for “transparency” in the affair on Tuesday to calm the supporters-and thus publicly opposed the US government.

The important intermediate elections for congress will be due in the coming year. There, the Republicans only have scarce majorities in both chambers. Former presidential advisor Steve Bannon already warned a few days ago that the Epstein scandal could cost the Republicans ten percent of the vote.

Other Trump supporters also spoke up. Trump’s former security advisor Mike Flynn wrote in a long contribution to X that the Epstein case was by no means a “deception”, as subordinate to the president. Rather, it is about crimes on children. He called on the President to “restore a minimum level of trust between our federal government and the people to whom it should serve”.

Trump’s former closer consultant and now alienated multi -illiarch Elon Musk recently wrote on X: “How should you trust Trump if he doesn’t publish the Epstein files?” Musk had already claimed without evidence a few weeks ago that the documents would not be published because Trump’s name was in them.

The Epstein scandal is the greatest turmoil against Trump since the beginning of its second term almost six months ago. Most recently, it was rumored in the Maga camp when the president accepted a gifted luxury pilot from Qatar and was speculated as Iran’s longer US mission. In both cases, however, calm quickly returned.
