Russia actually likes to demonstrate military strength with its large armyhorum at the gates of Moscow in the summer. But now the gun show has been canceled for the time being.
Russia has traditionally canceled the demonstration of military strength organized army forum, including the usual weapon show. The International Military Technical Forum “Army-2025” will be postponed to a later date, reported the state Russian news agency TASS, citing the organizers. Reasons were not mentioned.
The exhibition of armaments, including new military developments such as drones, was planned in the Patriot military park near Moscow from August 11th to 14th. A new date was not mentioned.
High drone risk in the Moscow area
According to the website of the forum, more than 1,500 participants were expected for the event, and an exhibition of more than 28,000 exhibits was planned. Delegations from more than 100 countries were invited last year. The trade fair, which has been organized since 2015, is considered the most important presentation platform for the Russian Ministry of Defense.
It was unclear whether security concerns could lead to the decision. In the Moscow area, Ukrainian drones are now being shot down almost daily, according to the Ministry of Department. Again and again, air traffic is restricted due to the drone risk.
In addition, Russia has been bound to Ukraine in its war of attack that has been going on for more than three years. Despite the war, Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin had ordered that the Russian armaments industry had to continue to meet its contractual obligations to deliver weapons to other states.
