Triller pipes, horns and loud music: The ARD summer interview with AfD boss Weidel did not run as planned. The AfD is raging – and demands consequences.
In the AfD, a repetition of the ARD summer interview with the party leader Alice Weidel, which is disturbed by a loud protest, is required. “In such a situation, the ARD should have switched to the studio for a fair, undisturbed interview,” said the Vice-Group leader in the Bundestag, Markus Frohnmaier, the news portal “Politico”. “I expect the conversation to be repeated under fair conditions.”
Weidel himself also criticized the protest from Sunday: “It is not beneficial for the culture of debate in our country to attack the freedom of press and information in such a way. I have no understanding for that,” she told the portal. “The AfD and my person will not be intimidated by such democratic actions.”

The interview, which was broadcast live on the Internet on Sunday afternoon, was led in the Spree in the open sky in the Berlin government district.
