Weidel spokesman: No explicit discharge

Weidel was not explicitly unloaded, said her spokesman Daniel Tapp. “She had an invitation and then she decided not to go.” At the request of the German Press Agency, Gloria Princess of Thurn and Taxis announced in writing that the police could not guarantee security on the premises. Weidel then decided not to visit the show or the festival restaurant, “so as not to spoil the evening”.

On Monday evening, according to the police, around 900 people in Regensburg demonstrated peacefully against the attendance of the politician at the festival under the motto “Mahnwache against Weidel”.

Before the event, the Gloria Princess of Thurn and Taxis told the radio station “Antenne Bayern” that it was “ideal for every party” to be able to invite someone who “would be discussed a bit controversial”: “Because that makes a party really interesting.”

In the past, there had already been protests for the festival at St. Emmeram Castle – the seat of the von Thurn and Taxis family. Critics accused the hostess to right -wing extremists and homophobia. The entrepreneur shows this in interviews.
