US President Donald Trump is under pressure because of the files for the Epstein affair. Now Minister of Justice Pam Bondi wants her deputy to ask the Epstein confidante.
In the affair about the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the US Justice Ministry wants to have his partner Ghislaine Maxwell asked. At the instructions of Justice Minister Pam Bondi, he contacted Maxwell’s legal assistance, the deputy wrote, on the platform X. “I intend to meet her soon.”
In a post of the minister under pressure in the Epstein affair, there was talk of an encounter “in the coming days”. So far, no authority has inquired about this on behalf of the ministry, it said.
Maxwell, the long-standing confidante of the US multimillionaire Epstein, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the summer of 2022. She had played a central role in building a ring for the sexual abuse of girls. Since then she has been in prison. Epstein, who had systematically abused minors for many years, committed suicide in 2019 at the age of 66 in his prison cell.

Trump had promised to open the Epstein files in the election campaign. Because he has not been doing this so far, the pressure on Bondi and him – also from his own warehouse grew. Most recently, the “Wall Street Journal” (WSJ) reported on an alleged letter of congratulations to Epstein on its 50th birthday in 2003, which is supposed to bear the name Trump.
