Trump has been under pressure for days to have files from the Epstein case published. At the same time, his government applied to release certain documents – but a court rejects this.
A federal judge in Florida has rejected an application from the US government to release legal documents for the case of the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. These are protocols of the so -called Grand Jury. This is a group of jurors who, according to the public prosecutor’s evidence, decides whether charges are charged.
The US government had applied for the approval of the documents last week. US President Donald Trump justified this with the great public interest in the Epstein case. At the same time, he does not follow the demand to publish comprehensive files of the case. The scope of the Grand Jury documents is unclear.
Federal judge Robin L. Rosenberg has now stated that the court was “tied”. Courts such as theirs should only publish the Grand jury in limited circumstances. The government’s application does not rely on one of the exceptions in which this is possible.
US President Donald Trump has been under pressure in the Epstein affair for days. Critics – also from his own warehouse – ask him to have files from the Epstein case published. That was one of Trump’s election promise.
Epstein’s arrest, which had systematically abused minors for many years, caused a sensation in the USA and worldwide. In 2019 he committed suicide in his prison cell at the age of 66. In parts of the US company, his death caused wild speculation because he had the best contacts in the American high society. Prominent and billionaires went in and out of him-Trump also spent time with Epstein, as several party videos show.
