Donald Trump is under pressure because of the case of sex offender Epstein. The white house draws attention to one of its predecessors.
The White House fires the allegations of US President Donald Trump against former President Barack Obama. His spokesman had previously accused Trump – who is strongly under pressure in the affair around the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein – beforehand. Trump himself has been dividing Obama for days.
Now US secret service coordinator Tulsi Gabbard presented a report on the extent of Russian interference in the American election campaign in 2016. It was also about how Obama is said to have created secret service information.
Gabard had revealed information on the topic in the past few days. The White House claims that Obama deliberately gave the attempted action from Moscow in the direction of Trump victory in 2016 more weight than was the case. This was fueled by a narrative that should harm Trump.
What follows from the allegations is unclear. Upon request, Gabard said that she left the evaluation as to whether the case is relevant to criminal law, the Ministry of Justice. Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt spoke of “shocking new evidence” for the fact that Obama and high-ranking employees of his government had “confused” to undermine Trump’s election victory. She spoke of politicized intelligence information that had been fabricated.
At further follow -up whether previous long -term investigations by the Senate and the Ministry of Justice would have overlooked or even covered up the alleged conspiracy against Trump, Gabbard replied: “Look at the evidence and you will find out the truth.”
Obama spokesman: “Weak diversion attempt”
The Obama spokesman said it the day before in a statement that was distributed by the media, out of respect for the office of President “worthy” the “constant nonsense and misinformation that comes from this white house, usually not with an answer. But these claims are so outrageous that they earn an answer.” It is extremely unusual that a former US President is critical of the current incumbent.
The Obama spokesman continued: Nothing in the now published document undermined the widely accepted conclusion that Russia had worked on influencing the 2016 presidential elections, but did not successfully manipulate votes. These findings were confirmed in a report by the Senate’s cross -party intelligence agencies from 2020, which was led by the then chairman Marco Rubio. Rubio today is Foreign Minister in the Trump government.
Trump last spoke of “betrayal” and the attempt to manipulate the election. Several media then cited Obama’s spokesman with the words: “These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction.”
The Epstein affair does not let go of Trump
By accusation of the distraction maneuver, the speaker could mean the delicate situation in which Trump is currently. Trump does not get the debate about the disclosure of all files on the fall of the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. There is also criticism even in the Republicans’ own ranks. Trump had promised to open the Epstein files in the election campaign. That hasn’t happened so far.
Connection between Trump and Epstein
Epstein was arrested in 2019 and then accused. In parts of the US company, Epstein’s death – according to official information, committed suicide – for wild speculations because he had the best contacts in the American high society. Prominent and billionaires went in and out of him-Trump also spent time with Epstein, as several party videos show. A “Wall Street Journal” report on an alleged congratulatory letter with slippery content, which is said to have had Trump’s name and was said to have been directed to Epstein on its 50th birthday in 2003, fueled the debate about how closely the connection between the two was.
Trump raises many other topics
Trump actually always posts a lot, at the moment particularly often. The “Washington Post” stated that the many posts had almost nothing to do with the problem that Trump has been following for weeks: Epstein. For example, Trump spread an artificially generated clip on his Truth Social platform, which is Obama as a convict behind bars. Trump described him on Tuesday as the leader of a “gang”.
It is not the first time that Trump shoots on Obama. Over the years, he repeatedly spread unaffected claims about his predecessor-such as the wrong claim that the first black US president was not born in the United States.
