Emmanuel Macron and his wife complain against right -wing influencer

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte have submitted a defamation against the rights influencer Candace Owens. The presidential couple sued Owen’s claim in the US state of Delaware that Brigitte Macron was born as a man.

Owens spread the claim on platform X and in her podcast in March 2024 because “she knew that the shock value would increase its visibility,” says court documents that are several US media. Owens confirmed on Thursday night on her YouTube channel that the macrons are in court against them.

Owens knowingly used false claims about the Macron to make money with their platform, the court documents said. She reacted to the search for the macrons to withdraw content with further falsehoods. So Owens claimed that Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron were related and Emmanuel Macron had become President of France with the help of a CIA program.

The macrons were victims of a “global humiliation campaign” through these claims, which is “invasive, dehumanism and deeply unfair”, the lawsuit, which includes 22 charges. The presidential couple’s lawyer told the broadcaster CNN that Owens had been asked for a year to withdraw the claims.

The 36 -year -old influencer has a large reach in the right circles: Owens has 4.4 million subscribers on YouTube and almost 7 million on the platform X. 2024, the Australian government denied Owens and referred to the spread of false claims over the Holocaust or Muslims.
