In the event of a secret coordination in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg, a swastika appears on a ballot. The Landtag president is horrified.
In the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg, a ballot has been smeared with a swastika in a secret tuning. Landtag President Muhterem Aras (Greens) confirmed the process in the plenary hall and expressed her outrage. The political groups in the state parliament reacted horrified. The AfD faction rejected back to do something with the incident.
“It only contradicts me,” said Aras. The use of anti -constitutional signs is a crime. Unfortunately, it was not possible to assign the act of a person. “This is underground,” said Aras. And: “This is a shame for this parliament.”
AfD MP: have nothing to do with it
The AfD previously wanted to have representatives voted to the so -called Upper Rhine Council at the secret choice to which the ballot belonged – but failed again. The Franco-German-Swiss committee is made up of representatives of the partial regions of Alsace, North and South Baden, South Palatinate and Northwestern Switzerland.
For the secret vote, two urns had been placed on two outputs of the plenary hall – at one end the MPs from AfD, CDU and FDP and at the other end of the Greens and the SPD. The parliamentarians then usually go to their respective corner for coordination. They are registered there by secretary when submitting the ballot.

According to dpa information, the ballot with the swastika on the side of the SPD and the Greens is said to have been handed over. The state administration emphasized that it could not provide any information in which urn was the ballot. This is the subject of investigations.
It is difficult to assign the ballot paper, said a spokeswoman. All facts will be checked. It is unlikely that the ballot paper was thrown in by an uninvolved, i.e. no MP, that was not a member. Only MPs would vote, said the state spokeswoman.
AfD MP files criminal complaint
The swastika was the official sign of National Socialism, in 1935 it became the symbol of the Nazi state. Using and showing the swastika is punishable. The Criminal Code provides for a prison sentence of up to three years or a fine.
The state administration did not want to show the ballot with the anti -constitutional symbol. He had already been handed over to the authorities, the state administration said in the evening.
As the German Press Agency learned, the swastika in the JA box in addition to the name of the AfD candidate Bernhard Eisenhut, who ran for the Oberrheinrat. According to the AfD faction, Eisenhut filed criminal complaint against unknown persons because of the use of anti-constitutional symbols, insult, coercion, nasty recovery and intimidation of mandate carriers.
The AfD MP Miguel Klaus said that the AfD has decidedly back that the AfD had something to do with the ballot paper. Aras spoke in the direction of the AfD and apparently wanted to show that the ballot paper came from the AfD, said Klaus.
Eternal bickering around committees
The AfD had failed in the state parliament with the 14th attempt to have representatives to the board of trustees of the Baden-Württemberg State Center for Political Education voted. After the bankruptcy, the AfD MP Klaus called for a repetition of the election, which, however, rejected Wolfgang Reinhart (CDU). The AfD was chosen by the people, but the MPs of the party were denied seating, and offices were revoked that they were specifically excluded from committees, Klauss criticized. The other political groups wanted to silence the voices of millions of citizens.
The elections of both committees are permanent disputes in the state parliament. Again and again the AfD sets up candidates, and the other political groups repeatedly reject them. The election to the board of trustees took place on Thursday as an open vote. The election to the Oberrheinrat then went secretly at the request of the AfD.
Political Education and Rheinrat
The State Center for Political Education is an institution of public law and the state parliament. Your non -partisanity is to be ensured in the board of trustees. The committee meets several times a year and consists of two dozen members, mostly from the state parliament. The political groups are represented in the board of trustees according to their strength. Accordingly, the AfD faction would have two seats. The AfD parliamentary group had already sued the repeated rejection of its candidates before the country’s constitutional court – but without success.
The Oberrheinrat claims to be a trinational parliament for the Upper Rhine region. Representatives from Germany, France and Switzerland sit in the committee. The Council meets twice a year and develops resolutions on cross -border topics.
