Hamas: Macron’s announcement is in the right direction
Violent criticism in Israel – Approval of Hamas: The reactions to Macron’s announcement that France wants to recognize Palestine as a state could not be more different.
The Islamist Hamas has welcomed the announcement by France President Emmanuel Macron, Palestine to recognize as a state. This is a positive step in the right direction in order to achieve justice and self -determination for the Palestinians, it said in a message.
Hamas calls all countries in the world, especially the European states and those who do not yet recognize Palestine, to follow the position of France. Hamas confirmed its goal of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital.
Macron announced on X on Thursday evening that he would announce the recognition of Palestine as a state in September at the United Nations General Assembly. Israel’s head of government Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli politicians had sharply condemned this step.
