Even years after his death, the affair around the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein employs the USA. The deputy general prosecutor does not give up.
In the affair about the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the Attorney General wants to ask his familiar Ghislaine Maxwell again. “I met Ghislaine Maxwell today, and I will continue my interview with her tomorrow,” wrote the deputy general prosecutor, Todd Blanche, on the platform X. The Ministry of Justice will announce further information on the knowledge.
After the conversation on Thursday, Maxwell’s lawyer David Oscar Markus spoke of a “productive day”. “She has answered all questions truthfully, honestly and to the best of our knowledge and belief,” he said in front of reporters.
Maxwell, the long-standing confidante of the US multimillionaire Epstein, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the summer of 2022. She had played a central role in building a ring for the sexual abuse of girls. Since then she has been in prison. Epstein, who had systematically abused minors for many years, committed suicide in 2019 at the age of 66 in his prison cell.
Trump under great pressure
In parts of the US company, his death caused wild speculation because he had the best contacts in the American high society. Prominent and billionaires went in and out of him-US President Donald Trump also spent time with Epstein, as several party videos show. Trump had promised to open the Epstein files in the election campaign. Because he has not been doing this so far, the pressure grew on him – also from his own warehouse.
