Gaza hunger. And the children suffer the most. The situation in the morning

An impending hunger at Gaza, questionable money transactions, the death of a wrestling legend and a heroic Chihuahua. That is important today.

Good morning, dear readers!

Journalists often encounter human suffering in their work: violence, crimes, disasters, death. Usually the tragedies that happen outside hardly touch. Perhaps because you dull from the flood of bad news. Perhaps it is instinctive self -protection so as not to break. It is probably both.

But there are moments that go close to you, who shock, make angry, drive tears into their eyes. The pictures from the Gaza Strip are included: children whose vertebral bones are avoiding the skin. Children with thin arms, weakened by hunger. They stand with pots and bowls of food spending, hope for a little soup.

Gaza hunger. And so little happens

Many residents report that they lived from a meal a day. Food is unaffordable, the markets are almost empty. Eyewitnesses describe violence in the distribution of relief goods. Reports that are difficult to check from afar.

The tragic thing is that a real improvement in the situation is not in sight. Aid organizations and authorities warn of a fatal hunger crisis. “The 2.1 million people caught in the Gaza war zone are faced with bombs and balls with another killer: starvation,” said WHO boss Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. “We experience an increase in deaths due to malnutrition every day.”

“Genozidal behavior”
The plan is there – why keep going in Gaza?

Since mid -July, the centers have been overcrowded, the children with acute malnutrition. Special food is missing to supply them in a needy manner. Since the beginning of the year, at least 21 children under the age of five have died by malnutrition. The WHO itself documented these cases. According to the World Food Program (WFP), a quarter of the population lives under hunger -like conditions.

“People die every day due to a lack of humanitarian aid, and we watch this situation intensify from day to day,” said Ross Smith, director of emergency missions at the WFP, early in New York. “The malnutrition increases rapidly,” said the organization this week. 90,000 women and children urgently need medical help.

On Wednesday, over 100 international aid organizations called for access to those in need. Tons of food, clean water, medication, accommodations and fuel would be stored unused – at the gates Gazas and partly in the Gaza Strip itself, since humanitarian organizations have no access to them and cannot deliver them, the organizations say.

Israel, on the other hand, sees the situation less dramatic. The “Times of Israel” quoted a rank -high security officer that the military had not found “famine”. According to the report, however, he said that measures needed to stabilize the humanitarian situation there. A government spokesman said that Hamas prevented the distribution of relief goods, capere transports and sell the goods at usury prices to finance their fighters.

After all, some relief goods reached the Gaza Strip. On Wednesday, UN teams mainly brought flour over two border crossings to the two million people in need. But UN spokesman Farhan Haq emphasized that the quantities were not enough.

They are just a drop of water in the hot desert sand.

Ms. Bosbach’s strange money transactions

The CDU member of the Bundestag Caroline Bosbach is said to have taken 2500 euros from the party treasury for private purposes. This is what two former party employees claim according to RTL and star affidavit. Why? Unclear. The party has released the two and already switched on the public prosecutor. How does Bosbach justify himself? And how severe the accusation for you weighs? The star-Politik bosses Veit Medick and Jan Rosenkranz talk about the cash affair around Caroline Bosbach in the “5-minute talk” podcast:

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan is dead

A real wrestling icon is dead: the US professional wrestler Hulk Hogan died at the age of 71. His manager Chris Volo said he died in the circle of his family.

Hogan became known in the 1980s. The trademark of the two -metered two -meter muscle man: half -length blonde hair, a murderous, heavily tanned skin and a headband that he later exchanged for a headscarf. He invented the “Hulkamania” brand and played in films such as “Rocky III” and series such as “Baywatch”. In 2005 the WWE accepted him in her Hall of Fame.

Hogan made wrestling popular in the United States than ever before. He transformed martial arts into a family entertainment, captivated millions of spectators with his TV appearances and made Wrestling a tracer. The WWE association said on X that Hogan had given the sport “worldwide recognition” and praised him as “one of the most famous figures in pop culture”.

In 2015, the WWE ended the collaboration with Hogan and temporarily ended it from the Hall of Fame. The reason was racist statements for which he later apologized.

Most recently, Hogan, as a supporter of Donald Trump, made headlines. In January he performed at the inauguration of the US President, tore up his smoking in front of the camera and called: “America is back!” US President Donald Trump paid tribute to Hogan as a “great friend” and supporter of his campaign. “He entertained fans all over the world, and the cultural influence he had was huge,” added the US President.

Something positive

Perhaps they remember: A few days ago, I reported at this point of a Chihuahua who led mountain rescuers to his master, which had an accident in a glacier column. Today there is a similar “good news” that shows that small dogs can be big heroes:

In the United States, the two -legged Chihuahua Champ saved his life to his owner Andrew Kuzyk by noticing a heart attack. That reports. Kuzyk noticed that Champ clutched his chest over the heart and made an unusual whirlpool. Shortly afterwards, Kuzyk felt his chest moving in. His wife, alarmed by champs, immediately called the emergency call. Fortunately, Kuzyk only suffered a slight heart attack, but did not recognize the symptoms as early as Champ. Only when things got serious did he realize that something was wrong. Champs warning and the quick intervention probably saved his life.
