This year, no rainbow flag is being raised on the building to the Christopher Street Day (CSD). Bundestag president Julia Klöckner (CDU) had recently decided – a measure that Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) with the sentence “The Bundestag is now no circus tent”.



400 square meter flag for the CSD

According to the organizers, the now rolled -out flag is 400 square meters in size. This almost corresponds to the size of a basketball field. There were speeches and music at the rally. Numerous people came to the demonstration and swiveled rainbow flags.

It is now colorful in front of the Willy Brandt House, the Federal Center of the SPD. SPD general secretary Tim Klüssendorf and the federal chairman of the SPDQueer working group, Carola Ebhardt and Oliver Strotzer, had the so-called progressive-pride flag on the occasion of the CSD.

The flag is a further development of the classic rainbow flag and contains other colors that are supposed to represent trans people and queer people of color. People of Color describe people who are not known as white, west or German and have had racism experiences.
