The alliance Sahra Wagenknecht cut off above average in young people, says co-boss Mohamed Ali. Now a separate youth association has established itself.

One and a half years after the founding of the Sahra Wagenknecht alliance, the party’s youth association formed in the Ruhr area. The 21-year-old Anastasia Wirsing, teacher student in Jena, was elected as chairman of the “Youth Alliance in the BSW” on Saturday in Bochum. The statutes of the youth association were also decided.

According to a spokesman, around 150 young party members and supporters were right, 113. In addition to BSW-Co-Co-Chairman Amira Mohamed Ali, Vice-party leader Amid Rabieh and the Berlin BSW top candidate in the Bundestag election, Oliver Ruhnert. BSW boss Sahra Wagenknecht was not there, but sent a video message.

By founding his youth organization, the BSW wants to consolidate itself despite the departure from the Bundestag and bind young people. In the federal elections, the party had a good job in voters between the ages of 18 and 34, said Mohamed Ali before the founding meeting. “We are very happy that there are so many active young people in the BSW who now want to get involved in a youth association.”

The BSW has the rejection of compulsory conscription and higher arms expenditure as topics for young. The boys would also have to remove the “gigantic debt”, said Mohamed Ali. At the same time, she called for investments in schools, the infrastructure and the economy.

At the end of June, the BSW announced that they would found party structures nationwide and also accept many more members. The number of around 2,800 members at that time is expected to grow to 10,000 by the end of the year.

According to Mohamed Ali, the previous members have a age of 54, only every fifth member is under 40 years old. For comparison: According to which the BSW has split off, according to which the BSW has split off, almost 60 percent of all members are now 35 years or younger.

Preparation for the next elections

The BSW narrowly missed the move into the Bundestag in February. The party leadership has doubts about the official result of 4.981 percent of the second votes and tries to achieve a new count. At the same time, the party wants to consolidate the state elections next year, especially in Saxony-Anhalt, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Berlin.
