Corona pandemic: Vaccinated tourists can travel to Australia again

For almost two years, Australia was virtually isolated from the outside world. After gradual easing, tourists are now allowed to enter the country again – the condition is full vaccination protection.

Australia is reopening its borders to international tourists after almost two years. Starting this Monday, anyone who has a valid visa and full vaccination protection against the corona virus can enter the country.

The country had completely closed its borders in March 2020 to isolate itself from infections, except for citizens and people with residency status. Last year there were first easing, including for foreign students and people with work visas.

“The wait is over,” said Prime Minister Scott Morrison at Melbourne Airport on Sunday. There are more than 1.2 million people worldwide with valid visas who could now come. His message to all people worldwide is: “Pack your things, come.”
