The international criticism of Israel’s procedure in the Gaza Strip has been getting louder for months. Now the country has announced fire breaks and the dropping of relief goods.
The Israeli army reacts to the violent international criticism of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip with the dropping of relief goods from the air, fire breaks and the facility “humanitarian corridors”. The military said that seven pallets with relief goods such as flour, sugar, sugar and food pans that had been made available by international organizations were said at night.
As of today, the army “every day until further notice” from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time will take a “tactical break of military activities for humanitarian purposes”, the Israeli forces said in the morning. The break in the areas where the army does not operate: Al-Mawasi in the southwest of the sealed coastal strip, in Deir al-Balah in the center and in the city of Gaza in the north. This was coordinated after corresponding discussions with the UN and international organizations, it said.
Israel announces fire breaks and auxiliary corridors
Furthermore, corridors would be set up from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. to enable the convoys of the UN and other aid organizations that deliver and distribute food and medication to the population throughout the Gaza Strip, the army continued to say.
The tent city in Al-Mawasi had previously defined Israel as a safe retreat for civilians. However, there have also been Israeli attacks with many deaths in the past. In Deir al-Balah there is the central warehouse of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the Gaza Strip. According to the WHO, this had recently been damaged when the Israeli military had initially moved into the area with ground forces.
Israel rejects the accusation of starving
A desalination system for the preparation of drinking water in the Gaza Strip has now been connected to the Israeli power grid again, the army said. The measures initiated aimed to improve humanitarian aid “and to refute the wrong claim that the Gaza Strip is intentionally starved,” said the military on Telegram.
Since the collapse of a ceasefire in March, only a few relief supplies have reached the sealed coastal area. Israel and the UN accuse each other to hinder the distribution of relief supplies. It was the first time that Israel has dropped relief goods from the air into the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war, after previously only allowed to carry out such actions, the “Times of Israel” wrote.
The Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates also announced to X that the drops were “resumed immediately.” However, helpers consider the method to be ineffective because of the relatively small quantities. In addition, people could be injured by the pallets on the ground.
Israeli soldiers stop activist ship
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers stopped a ship with propalestinian activists who were traveling with reliefs in the direction of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the “Handala” was prevented from getting into the waters in front of the sealed coastal area. The passengers are safe and would be taken to the Israeli coast. “Unauthorized attempts to break through the blockade are dangerous, illegal and undermined the ongoing humanitarian efforts,” it said.
Most recently, a Freeedom Flotilla ship had tried to get into the Gaza Strip in June. Among other things, the Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg was on board. This ship was also stopped by the Israeli military. Thunberg was shown a few days later.
The WHO most recently warned of a fatal hunger crisis among the approximately two million inhabitants of the Gaza Strip. Israel denies the risk of a fatal hunger crisis and instead speaks of a campaign by Islamist Hamas. She wanders auxiliary transporters to pay their fighters with money for the captured relief goods. Another problem is that the UN trucks did not pick up and would bring them to people. The UN reject this. They rarely received permission to enter vans.
Macron: Peace is possible
In order to avoid the UN aid organizations and other initiatives, the Israeli government introduced a new distribution system with the help of the controversial Gaza Humanitrian Foundation (GHF) some time ago. Since then there have been reports of fatal incidents near the GHF distribution points. The head of the UN aid for Palestinian refugees in the Middle East (Unrwa), Phillipe Lazarrini, called the centers “sadistic death traps”.
France President Emmanuel Macron wrote on X After a conversation with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the blockade of relief goods and the expansion of the Israeli military operation in Gaza were an intolerable risk of famine and the forced displacement of the population. “We cannot accept that the population, including many children, is hungry dies, “wrote Macron and again demanded a ceasefire and the release of the hostages. “Peace is possible”.
International conference on the two -state solution
An international conference on the two-state solution planned on Monday in New York and Saudi Arabia on Monday must create a new dynamic in favor of a fair and permanent solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the two-state solution, wrote Macron. The work will continue at the UN General Assembly in New York in September. Macron had previously announced that he would then announce the recognition of Palestine as a state. For this he had attracted sharp criticism of Israel and his ally.
Thousands of request in Tel Aviv Deal to find hostage
In Israel, several thousand people took to the streets for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of the hostages continued by Hamas. At the rally in Tel Aviv, a former hostage appealed to US President Donald Trump: “I urgently ask you: Please use all the means to bring all the options for bringing them all home. A comprehensive agreement is the only way forward, and only you can make it possible.” On Thursday, the United States and Israel had called back their negotiation teams from the indirect discussions in Qatar about a break.
It remains to be seen how the efforts are going on with an ceasefire. According to Israeli information, there are still 50 hostages in the Gaza Strip, of which at least 20 should still be alive. HAMAS and other Islamists terrorists deployed more than 250 people to the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023 on October 7, 2023. More than 1,200 people were killed. It was the trigger of the war.
Since then, according to the health authority controlled by the Hamas, tens of thousands of people have been killed in the Gaza Strip. The independent information that cannot be verified do not distinguish between civilians and fighters.
