US Republicans shocked with Auschwitz contribution

Governor candidate Kyle Langford shared a disturbing Auschwitz contribution on social media. He reacts maliciously to public criticism.

“My plan for 0 percent unemployment,” says the picture that Kyle Langford shows in front of the goal of the Auschwitz concentration camp. Langford was not on site, his grinning face was subsequently installed in a photo published in 2019. The US Republican, who is applying for the Governard Office in California, shared the contribution on the X platform on Saturday.

Auschwitz memorial reacts

The reaction was not long in coming. “The instrumentalization of the tragedy of all those who have been detained and murdered in the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp, for political messages is a serious moral failure. Auschwitz is not a requisite,” writes the official account of the Auschwitz memorial to a screenshot of the post. “Kyle Langford, her contribution is an insult to the dignity of the victims and a disturbing expression of insensitiveness and disregard for the terrible history of mankind.” The EU Party European Democrats also reacts similarly to Bluesky: “There is no excuse for this: this is not a humor, it is stubborn hatred.”

Langford seems to take the criticism differently. He thanks the museum “for great support” and adds cynically: “My German ancestors smile down on me from above.” In another answer he writes: “I am the coming man.” Langford knows which inhuman ideology he alludes to. His post contains a AI summary of the scene, as Hitler is said to have asked his valet Heinz Linge before his suicide to “go through the west for the coming man”.

Langford relies on shock

The Republican is an expert in gaining attention with extreme positions. In April, he made headlines with an advance to deport illegal immigrants. While he asked all the men to refer the country immediately, he wanted to allow women to stay in the country – as long as they marry an “incel” “incel” within a year. A name for Misogyne groups of men who blame women to find no partners. The Incel movement is considered a recruitment basin for right-wing extremists.

Langford describes his ideology in his application to the position of governor of California as “Christian eco-nationalism”. In addition to the construction of a wall on the Mexican border, he relies on zero tolerance in crime and wants to use prison inmates as an forced laborer in infrastructure projects.

The governor election will only take place in November 2026. In California, the candidates are not selected in primary elections, but put themselves on themselves. Langford with its extreme positions should have bad chances in the democratically shaped state. The current favorite has not even announced her candidacy: the former presidential candidate Kamala Harris only wants to decide after the summer whether to start. In surveys, however, it already has 57 percent approval.
