After international pressure, Israel again leaves aid deliveries in the Gaza Strip. But the suffering of the adults and children of Gaza is far from over.

A humanitarian drama has been playing in Gaza for months. There is currently ceasefire-and according to Israeli information, more than 120 truck loads have been distributed on aid. The UN and other international organizations have taken over the distribution, explained the Israeli authority Cogat responsible for the Palestinian area on Monday in the online service X.

After massive criticism about the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army announced “tactical breaks” of its use in parts of the Gaza Strip on Sunday.

According to the cogat, regular arrival and distribution of relief goods by the UN and other organizations will provide more help for the population in the Gaza Strip. 180 other trucks had reached the Gaza Strip. The aid deliveries “are waiting to be received and distributed”.

Pressure on Israel due to aid deliveries for Gaza

The pressure on Israel to enable more aid deliveries had increased last week. Aid organizations such as Oxfam require other regular and more extensive support for the more than two million people in the Palestinian area.

“For children who have been starving for months, a few trucks will not be enough to make up for the damage that has already occurred,” said Oxfam employee Bushra Khalidi of the AFP news agency.

According to the Israeli army, the “tactical breaks” should apply daily between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. in areas in which the army had not actively fought, including the towns of Al-Mawasi and Deir El-Balah and parts of the city of Gaza.

In the entire Gaza strip, “proven safe routes” were opened to enable UN convoys and aid organizations to pass through, the Israeli army explained on Sunday morning in the Telegram online service.
